Acupuncture

Acupuncture has its roots in China, India, and Egypt over 5000 years ago.  Over many years, Chinese acupuncture practitioners mapped a system of energy traveling beneath the skin and supplying the body's organs with energy, or qi (“chee.”)  They theorized that disruptions to the flow of energy caused dysfunction in the body and that insertion of very thin, sterile needles at certain points along these meridians help to restore the proper flow of qi.  Acupuncture is becoming more and more widely used in the Western world, and scientific basis for its success is being studied and increasingly understood.  Dr. Belinda became interested in studying acupuncture when it helped her for back pain, nausea, and a general sense of calm and relaxation during her pregnancy and has found it to be a tremendously successful adjunct to chiropractic care.
